Conceptual Math
"Conceptual Math" is shorthand for a way of teaching why operations in math work the way they do – as opposed to "Procedural Math," which gives a series of steps to memorize to solve a problem. Our Conceptual Math curriculum was developed at The Summit Country Day School, and it exceeds national standards. .
Practical Science
You can expect your child to be able to solve problems, find and use evidence, collaborate on projects and think critically. STEM-trained educators in the Middle School prepare students to advance into rigorous Upper School science and math curricula. Middle Schoolers who are ready can even take high-school level math classes while still in Middle School.
